The Institutional Proposal is the first stage in the accreditation review process. By mutual agreement, it sets the parameters for WASC’s review. The Proposal lays out the strategic, prioritized institutional capacity activities and educational effectiveness research that we will undertake during the accreditation review process.
Alliant’s Institutional Proposal was developed by the WASC Steering Committee for Educational Effectiveness based on core University documents such as the Renaissance Plan; faculty ratings of the current strengths and prioritization of the challenges facing the University in relation to the WASC Standards; faculty, student and staff focus groups; and surveys. The information gathering, on-campus discussions, and prioritization of the information took place during academic years 2005-06 and 2006-07. Background documents and information used to develop the Institutional Proposal are posted on the TeamPlace Portal site used during 2006-07 (log in with your Portal log-in and password to access this information).

In June 2007, the WASC Proposal Review Committee met with Alliant administrative and faculty representatives about the Proposal. The Review Committee accepted the proposal and recommended specific issues for Alliant to address as part of the review process.
