The Graduate School of Education's Partners for Success

GSOE Proudly Announces its Partnership with TEACH California!

GSOE Founding Dean
Dr. Karen Schuster Webb

At the Graduate School of Education, we are committed to the transformation of professional education by providing exceptional preparation that is interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and technologically sophisticated. Our practitioner-scholars build on a solid tradition of inclusive learner centered communities, flexible delivery environments, and professional partnerships for educational success.

The Partners for Success initiative, founded by GSOE Dean Karen Webb, Ph.D., provides a framework from which we deliver model teacher preparation and other professional education programs in partnership with public school districts in the Fresno, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco metropolitan areas. Our Partners for Success programs are also linked to Alliant-Mexico City. Further, we strongly believe in building community site-based programs—ask us for details.

The fundamental concept of Partners for Success is that in order to facilitate student academic achievement, the educational needs of the entire learning environment must be addressed holistically. We believe that attention and appropriate intervention must be provided not only for students and teachers, but also for administrators, counselors, school psychologists, parents and other caregivers, support service personnel, and for the community at large.

We expect our graduates to:

  1. develop and see themselves as competent and confident practitioners  who are prepared to successfully meet the educational needs of the 21st century;
  2. become global change agents able to foster learning communities within their chosen career environments by demonstrating broad-ranging cross cultural competencies and professional dispositions;
  3. focus their energies on empowering and coaching those with whom they work;
  4. effectively apply theory to practice, and
  5. serve as leaders and advocates for their students, their colleagues, their communities and professions.

We are always looking for new partners who share our vision. To request a list of partners or to begin a dialogue with the Graduate School of Education about becoming involved with Partners for Success, contact Kelley Daniel at (415) 955-2051 or Email.
