Partnering with TEACH California

How We're Working with
TEACH California

GSOE's TeachersCHOICE Teacher Preparation Programs offer some of the state's leading credentialing programs for regular and special education teacher Interns.

GSOE's Early Completion Option is an expedited, intense preparation program for regular education Interns which targets areas of highest need (ELL students, assessment, special needs) and supports each Intern with a professional mentor with a successful history in California education.

California continues to face a shortage of special education, mathematics, and science teachers, and the Graduate School of Education (GSOE) is proud to being working with TEACH California to alleviate the situation.

TEACH California's website is designed to explain the teacher preparation process, create individualized pathways for prospective teachers, and provide financial aid information. It includes video interviews of teachers who work in different settings, samples of lesson plans, and links to important resources.

In addition, TEACH California offers a searchable database of teacher preparation programs and high school/community college programs that provide early teaching experiences.

GSOE encourages its students to learn about TEACH California, and to download the free brochures and outreach materials available on their website.

What You'll Find on the TEACH California website:

  • Features to help you decide if teaching is for you - including an interactive "game show" that takes you through the preparation process, pulus information on different types of teaching, virtual interviews with teachers and students and salary and benefits information
  • News of and links to scholarships and financial aid
  • Glossaries of terms and guides to credentialling
